Scuba Diving In Catalina Island

Before a scheduled magic show at Catalina Island library, we decided to risk our lifes and scuba dive. According to some magazine Avalon, the city in Catalina has one of the best dive spots in the world. Without being able to personally compare it to the Bahamas, I will agree.

It was amazing and life changing. A little scary, but once you mentally realise tat you can breathe from a tube underwater, your OK.

Katia and I took an introductory course. Within 2 hours we instructed, fitted and were underwater.

The dive lasted 30 minutes and we dove 25 feet underwater. The most magical part of the experience was the whole world that is under water. We saw fish, sea weeds and other marine life. Fish just swam in front of us like when you walk in a busy street.

If you ever get a chance, go for it.

Met Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

Performed our Magic Show at Los Angeles City Hall on Friday October 9, 2009 and met the Mayor. We have seen the Mayor at special events and shopping at The Grove but we never personally met him.

We got chosen by the City Hall to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and to entertain the kids that won a poster design contest. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was there to present the awards. But the cool part of the City Hall event was the artwork from the students and seeing the kids.

Some of the news media people recorded the event and showed it on the news. So we might have appeared in the news. Maybe Channel 7 News. The event was hosted by DJ Raq-C from 96.3 Latino FM.

Katia and I took a quick picture with the Mayor, as soon as he left the stage he shook our hands. We felt important. So we took a picture but unfortunately I took the photo and I cut part of my head off in the picture.

The show went well and the staff at the Mayor's office was awesome and hard working. We like to thank our friend Sandy Franco at Los Angeles City Hall.
